Insect-bite-triggered eczema
health & beauty March 21st, 2010Earlier I was in the derma clinic to have my skin checked up. I seem to have been irritated with a certain insect that bit me a few weeks ago. It was just a tiny insect much like a bug and it bit me. It started out as a red dot in my skin but it was very itchy. I tried several remedies yet the itchiness remained.
When the derma saw it, she instantly knew the problem. It was eczema, triggered by that insect bite. At first I doubted her opinion because I always thought that eczema is just characterized by goosebumps-looking rashes in the skin. She explained that there are different types of eczema and mine is somewhat common to those with dermatitis.
Anyhow, she prescribed some eczema treatments to take care of the itch and inflammation. She said that this is a conservative remedy for my condition. In case it does not work for me, she will need to inject some steroids directly into my wound. Now I’m really scared. Damn that insect!
