Early Detection & Treatment Tool for Cancer
health & technology September 16th, 2007One of my biggest fears is to have cancer. This is because you usually do not know you have cancer until it’s too late. Consequently, I was relieved to find out that there is proteomics development for clinical biomarkers for early detection and treatment of cancer.
According to a study, this development is focused on two approaches: Identifying signature patterns of proteins in various diseases, and validating the association of signature proteins with cancer. As with any disease, early detection of cancer is important for successful treatment of cancer. Generally, it is still up to us if we are going to ignore or take notice of the slightest symptoms that could eventually lead to cancer. And with improved technologies such as proteomics offering a “great promise for early detection, screening and classification of different types of cancers” it would of course be our fault if we do not avail of it and are diagnosed too late with a stage three cancer.
