Never trust internet cafe’s

Uncategorized, tips & tricks No Comments »

In the event of social networking sites, internet cafe’s sprouted everywhere. You can see them in malls, near schools and believe it or not, chapels. These internet cafe’s offer cheap rates for internet use. Plus some of them are so creative, they offer “extra services” like printing, DVD burning, research, and recently – HD movie downloading. However, some extra services are not really offered but are actually running in the background. I, people, am referring to hacking applications running on the background.

These forms of hi tech pickpocketing are very common nowadays yet still many are not aware of them. These applications store your login credentials, credit card information, identity information, and even pictures you access from your usb drives. So my tip, never trust internet cafes. Never access personal information on public PC’s or even public Wifi sites. You’ll never know when hackers will attack. Best way to prevent attacks is through prevention.

More on epilepsy

My young cousin seems to have had inherited one of the bad traits on my mother’s side of the family: epilepsy.

I feel sad for the poor girl, she seems to have a bright future ahead of her. I’m glad she doesn’t give up, given the fact that she knows her current state. She works out and makes sure that she’s fit and healthy. I volunteered to look for a disability insurance service for her since I’m looking for my aunt as well.

Please help both of my relatives by commenting any good companies and the benefits that they offer.

Given the fact that I am the breadwinner for my family, and I would most likely be the one to pay for this as well, it would be appreciated if the price was reasonable, as well, without compromising the quality of the service. It would be great if you can vouch for the company through your own experience.

I’m counting on you, guys!

Wedding preparations

Right now I am in a salon getting a pedicure for later’s big event. Today is my sister’s wedding day so everyone is busy preparing for it. My sister’s fiance’ is a Filipino and they have very sophisticated wedding rights different from here in the US. They have a long entourage with twelve pairs of sponsors, imagine that. Not to mention six cute pairs of pretty flower girls and ring bearers wearing bow ties who they are dressing up right now. Anyhow, I think everything will be wonderful. I am actually so excited especially because they hired a famous recording artist just to sing for them at the wedding. Hmm… I do not envy her though. Sometimes I kinda wonder what MY wedding will be like. Personally what I prefer is a fun fun beach wedding. You know, like the Hawaiian themed weddings? But anyway enough with the mumbling… need to finish dressing up!

Do not upgrade to iTunes 9.1

Uncategorized, tips & tricks No Comments »

Last night I upgraded to the latest version of iTunes. Nothing seemed different in this new version, just the same boring interface as the previous version. Anyhow after the upgrade, I purchased a bunch of music titles and apps in the iTunes store then plugged in my iPod to sync. Then, the problem started. When I plugged my iPod, an error message popped up saying something like “SyncServer not working. Please reconnect device”. So that was what I did, reconnected the iPod but the same error message appeared. I got my brother’s iPod Touch to test if the same error will appear and yes, it too could not sync to iTunes. It seems like the current version of iTunes has some kind of a bug. Two of my ipods are not syncing so I guess this is enough proof. By the way I also tried reinstalling the older version of iTunes and there was no problem with the sync. So just a tip to you guys, DO NOT UPGRADE YOUR ITUNES!

The Transformers

My sister and I just finished watching the Transformers: the Revenge of the Fallen yesterday. It was a pretty good movie, but I wouldn’t say that it would be worth it to watch on IMAX.

It had good cgi and effects, but the storyline just wasn’t emphasized. I’d have to say, though, the lighting at every scene, including the ones shot in Egypt were pretty amazing.

I have yet to learn the art and magic of computer graphics.

Hospital theif

NEVER LEAVE YOUR THINGS UNATTENDED – this was a sign I saw yesterday at the hospital when I visited a friend of mine. She was confined because of tremendous pain in her back and abdomen part. She was diagnosed with kidney stones and is now being treated for it. Anyhow, she told me that she lost her purse while inside her room.

We already informed the hospital admins about it and they suspected a thief did that. I was really upset the way they said that because they did not seem to care that much about their patient’s personal belongings. The fact that it happened shows that their security was crap! They even bragged about their wireless security system but it was no good in identifying the thief. Good thing the purse only had little cash and some not so important documents. I hope this experience will make others be aware of security risks even in hospitals.
