Back on Track

mental fitness, mumblings, tips & tricks No Comments »

My cousin has recently passed the medical board exam. She’s now a doctor, acting as a substitute for doctors on their leave on various hospitals.

She has been intending to start her own clinic, but she doesn’t have the capital yet. She’s lately been so uninspired and unmotivated to do anything, so I want to help her out in my own little ways.

I plan on buying one of the medical carts at Howard-Medical.com. Hopefully when she sees it she’ll remember why she wanted to start her own clinic and start being motivated again.

When you see a friend who’s starting to lose hope, it’s our job to cheer them up and get them back on track. Don’t ignore them, and remember to help in your own little ways! No man is an island, after all. Don’t you agree?

February!!!

mumblings, tips & tricks No Comments »

Uh oh, February is just around the corner, and you know what that means! Valentine’s Day is about to come around, and well, Desperation Day is there for single men and women like myself. Haha! (If you must know, Desperation day is on the 13th of February, and if you want to know why, well… Google is your friend!)

If you are one of those lucky ladies who were able to find their true love and are still with the man, I suggest you to send your boyfriend this valentine or at least start looking for gifts. You wouldn’t want your man to feel like he’s not appreciated, would you? Don’t give him a gift that’s half-assed (pardon the french). If you have found your true love, I suggest you never let go, so you wouldn’t be drowning in regret later on.

Enjoy the little things, because they are the things that will keep you sane. Live your life with no regrets, take risks and learn from your mistakes!

Setting up a business at 60

tips & tricks No Comments »

For a month now, it has been a debate among us sisters whether to let Mom have a business of her own. Mom is already retired. At age 60, she is financially stable from my Dad’s insurance plus she gets her children’s support too. All of us sisters have very good businesses and careers already so in terms of financial reasons, an additional business is just plain greedy.

My sisters preferred that Mom just relax, enjoy her life and just do whatever she wants. They do not want Mom to get stressed with some business that her friends just suggested. In my point of view however, having a business gives a sense of challenge and fulfillment. Yes, I agree that businesses can be stressful but then again it could also be fun. Imagine being 60 and doing nothing. It is just letting your life pass by for nothing right?

Anyhow, good thing my sisters considered my opinion and they finally agreed to support Mom on her business. By the way, my Mom decided to set up an internet cafe. Since I am the IT professional in the family, I will take care of helping mom purchase cheap desktop computers for her cafe. My sisters, as always, are the capitalists, because they are already filthy rich and their husbands do not really care about spending money that much.

Quick gift suggestions

I have been so busy with work lately that I was not able to prepare for Christmas gifts for my friends. So today, I left early at work and ran to the nearest shopping mall to find the best gifts possible.

Cuff links – the moment I saw these accessories, I bought them. They are cute and comes in different shapes to match your friend’s personality. I bought two pairs. One with puppy designs, the other pair – cupcakes. They are so nice that I even bought some for myself.

Flashdrives – for all your gadget loving friends. I know they are very common nowadays but admit it, you can’t get enough of these things. Even if you have a hundred of these you will still appreciate another 10 right?

Christmas Cups – these are for my office mates. Cute cups are best given to employees because they usually have coffee in the office.

Shaver – a gillette mach 3 will definitely be appreciated by your guy friends who has quite a thick beard.

So there, the list of things I bought for my friends. It took me just a couple of hours to get them. Next thing to do now is wrap them up then I’m all set for the party later.

On getting insurance for my parents

tips & tricks No Comments »

If there is one thing I learned about insurance, it is that it gets expensive as you grow older. Take my case for instance. It is just now that I started considering getting insurance because I prioritized my savings, emergency funds and business before any insurance. I am now 28. I did some inquiries regarding life insurance and the price was about twice as much if I was only 24. If only I started young, I could have gotten a good insurance for a cheaper price. I wonder if life insurance for seniors is still possible.

My parents do not have any life insurance. They only rely on their employment benefits and savings which is more than enough because we children cover for other expenses. However, this year I plan on getting them a life insurance just before they retire. I am not sure it is still possible but it is worth a try.

Excited!

My best friend’s kid’s birthday is coming up in three weeks, and I’m looking for gifts to get him. The problem is, I have absolutely no clue on what kind of gifts for boys there are! I thought about getting him toy cars, but then I don’t think he’s old enough to enjoy those.

I also thought about getting him a kite, but then I figured he’s a little too young for that. I don’t want to get him food because it probably won’t last long! I’ve never been good at giving presents, not even to my friends, so… yeah.

Can you guys help me? He’s 6, and I have absolutely no clue. He’s just so adorable! I’m too excited to give him his gift and pinch his cheeks and get a kiss on the cheek and carry him around!

I love kids. They’re so adorable.

Your shoes tell you how much you respect yourself

tips & tricks No Comments »

I recently bought some DVD’s about prosperity consciousness by Randy Gage. Gage is very well known for his books on Prosperity. One of the best things I learned from the series is that, the things you buy show your prosperity consciousness. Also, your shoes tell you how much you respect yourself.

Take me for instance. On my first job, I needed shoes. It was required as a part of our work outfit. Any leather shoes would do so I went to Payless and got the cheapest leather shoes one could possibly get. Cheap shoes made my feet smell. Also, my toes started curling in probably because of the lack of proper cushion of my cheap shoes. That made me depressed buy I thought, they were cheap.
That situation had some bad programming on my sub conscious. It meant that I had no respect for myself.

True enough, when I transferred to my next company, I bought a pair of expensive high quality justin boots. They were amazingly comfortable and they hugged my feet like melted butter. They were so comfortable that every  time I wear them I feel very blessed. No longer depressed, I thought of better things to do and I was able to reach my career goals.

My point here is, self respect is very important. For things like shoes, one should really consider comfort first before anything else. Never rid yourself of the comfort of the necessary things in life. Believe me comfort leads to positive thinking which eventually attracts more positive things to happen in your life.

On Graduating and Job Hunts

My sister’s graduating soon and she’s starting to worry about what kind of jobs she would take and the like.

For the longest time, our older brother has been the biggest influence in her life. If it weren’t for him she wouldn’t be playing nursery rhymes on the computer at age 4 over legos and barbie dolls, and she wouldn’t be learning HTML all by herself at the age 9.

She told me she wants to look for Network Administrator Jobs when she graduates, just like my brother’s chosen field of specialization.

She really can go places, once she sets her mind into it, I tell you.

I’m not really very knowledgable in this field, so if you have any recommendations on what books she should start reading up on and the like, please feel free to post comments in this post. I kind of want to help her after she graduates by buying her books, since books on her chosen field are quite expensive, really.

Quality vs Quantity

My brother is currently looking for lapel pins in department stores but hasn’t really found anything to his taste, so I was thinking of getting his lapel pins custom made.

What do you think? I mean, most of the pins on department stores are so tacky and cheap looking (well, mostly because they actually are, but you get the point).

In my opinion, brands aren’t always the key to looking like you actually paid for something worth more than the usual price. Sometimes it’s actually just the brand that you pay for, and not the quality of the material you just bought. I’d choose quality over quantity any day. I get most of my good clothes from thrift stores and second hand shops! Would you? And why? Share it with all of us! I’m sure there are a lot of people willing to discuss this very famous / common topic.

Quality over quantity. Start talking! Haha!

Withdrawal

fitness advice, mental fitness, tips & tricks No Comments »

I read on an article online that when one shows symptoms of xanax detox addiction abuse withdrawal, a rehab withdrawal treatment program should be on the top of the list of priorities of the loved ones of the affected person.

The first mistake that any person can do to a person with symptoms is to pretend to be a doctor and diagnose the illness. We have people who have spent half of their lives studying so that they can provide people who need help assistance, and the best one, at that, and we can’t just put all of that to waste because we want to save money. More often than not people who opt to do the former end up complicating things and spending even more than how much they would have spent if they immediately seeked professional help.

Certain patient care centers have various differences, but most of what people look for in centers like these are methods that are safe and orthodox, but also proven to be efficient. It would be best to read reviews and ask from people you know if these centers are any good and what you should expect from them before doing anything in a rush.
