A person who is sitting in front of computers for several hours is endangering his eyesight. For this reason, most of the people exposed on computer works for several hours normally wear eyeglasses. There are two reasons why they wear eyeglasses. Foremost reason is to correct the diagnosed eye problems and the second reason is to protect the eyes for the harmful effects of computer.

My Mom has taught us when we were small, that our tired eyes could be relaxed by looking at something green, like the trees and the grasses. Our teachers in the school taught us the same thing and even advised us to have our home garden so we have always the green to look at. Nature has provided the best cure for our eyes, the green living things that surround us. Thus, we have to care for it. No wonder, my neighbor had consulted the TruGreen-Chemlawn to provide the highest quality lawn care service for his property. The company has skilled specialists who are courteous. My neighbor is happy for they even recommended a procedure to save the trees and shrubs. I’m lucky to have a neighbor with a beautiful lawn that helps me to relax my eyes. Give proper care to your lawn, for it is the nature’s cure for tired eyes.

Grandma is about to celebrate her 80th birthday. She is diabetic and beginning to develop dementia. At her age, she enjoys walking in the neighborhood and could not be kept for hours in the house. There were times that she went out of the house unnoticed thus, we had difficulty locating her.

My friend upon knowing my concern, strongly recommended for grandma a Medical ID Bracelet. This bracelet will give us the peace of mind in case grandma will be out of our sight, and in emergency situation, responders will know that she is diabetic. As such, for Grandma’s birthday present, we will give her a bracelet.

Did you know that if you don’t practice good posture while using the computer, you have a risk of getting scoliosis? That would be bad, wouldn’t it?

Did you know why adjustable keyboard trays exist? An adjustable keyboard tray exists to prevent disorders like the Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. It is a certain condition in the wrists that makes you suffer from a lot of pain and muscle weakness in not only your forearm, but also your hand. You should take precautionary measures to prevent yourself from getting disorders like these. Always remember: Prevention is better than cure.

Eye Care Tips and Tricks

I have been wearing glasses since I was in high school. Since then, I’ve accumulated several tips from my ophthalmologist and optometrist on how to take care of my eyes and eye glasses. Below are some of them.

  • You need to exercise your eyes. During short breaks in regular work hours, and blink several times, and roll your eyeballs clockwise and counterclockwise. One minute is enough.
  • If you’re working for long hours on the computer, look away from your monitor every hour for 5-10 minutes. Looking at distant objects, preferably those in soothing green, and then returning to your task helps your eyes focus better.
  • Drink lots of water. You must be puzzled by this. According to my doctors, drinking plenty of water helps reduce puffiness because when you’re dehydrated, as a defense mechanism, your body starts storing water causing puffiness around your eyes.

There you go! ^_^

But for those looking for stylish prescription glasses, I recommend my Great Discovry:$ 8 Prescription Glasses From Zenni Optical. For just 8 USD, you can select from their huge collection of frames with lenses ranging from single vision to tinted sunglasses lens. They’re very cheap but definitely stylish.

Hearing Protection for Workers

A man works to be happy. He takes care of himself to live longer so as to enjoy the fruits of his labor. As such, he eats a balanced diet and exercises regularly. In the performance of his work, he protects himself too by adhering to the safety measures and procedures set in the workplace. Employers have to adhere to the regulations to protect their workers from the hazards of their job.

At work, there are different ways being observed to protect the person from any work-related injuries such as wearing the prescribed fire proof outfit from head to foot like the firemen, wearing special mask/eyeglasses for welders, helmet for motorcycle riders, and bullet proof vest for special protection of people performing risky mission. It seems the whole body is protected. However, the small canals in the person’s face are least protected, the ears.

Inability to hear affects not only a person’s personality but most of all his happiness. Thus, whether at work or play, noise reduction should be taken into consideration to protect the sense of hearing. Usually, individuals use the noise reduction headphones so as not to disturb others. Unknown to them, they too can also be victims of deafness or loss of hearing.

Recently, the World Health Organization (WHO) reports that 250 million people have a disabling degree of hearing impairment. It was also found out that noise induced hearing loss is the number one occupational illness worldwide. It costs a big amount of wealth to have cochear implant/operation for better hearing.

This information made me searched the internet for hearing protection. With this, I discovered the Sonomax Hearing Healthcare Inc. They make hearing protection and communication enabling products. They make a SonoCustom that blocks out hazardous noise, and still allows the users to hear conversations. This is an instant-fit expansion earpiece. Available also is the SonoPass, which is the Sonomax’s proprietary computer-generated proof-of performance software. Sonomax offers too SonoPlatform, which is the patented SonoCustom for use in assisted/active hearing applications. Among these three products, I only need the SonoCustom for my hearing protection. Like me, if you are exposed to noise or loud sounds, you too have to protect yourself.

A Private Surgery

We are a family consisting of father, mother and four children. After the birth of our youngest member of the family, mother through the doctor’s advice underwent the labia surgery.

I do recall, what my Mom told us about her reaction after having given birth to her first born. According to her, few days after the delivery, she got a cosmetic mirror and inspected her private part, her vagina. She couldn’t believe of the changes she saw, for it is not in the perfect shape anymore.

After several years and having given birth to additional three children through normal delivery, the doctor advised her to undergo labia surgery. At first, Mom was hesitant, but after receiving words of encouragement and having understood the benefits of such surgery, she consented and she was operated on successfully. Today, Mom is more confident and a very active secured woman.

Public Relations on Fitness, Health & Beauty

It’s fascinating what webmasters can come up with. Just recently, I found a website for London PR. It’s not your usual public relations company though. It targets fashion, health and beauty.

I guess this is not surprising considering the fact that websites’ scope nowadays are dwindling from global to local and specifics. It’s great that there are specific press release writers for this field. After all, there are different styles of writing, and those who are experienced in a certain field will always have an edge over those that do not.

For public relations who are concentrating on the field of fitness, health and beauty, best of luck!

Early Detection & Treatment Tool for Cancer

One of my biggest fears is to have cancer. This is because you usually do not know you have cancer until it’s too late. Consequently, I was relieved to find out that there is proteomics development for clinical biomarkers for early detection and treatment of cancer.

According to a study, this development is focused on two approaches: Identifying signature patterns of proteins in various diseases, and validating the association of signature proteins with cancer. As with any disease, early detection of cancer is important for successful treatment of cancer. Generally, it is still up to us if we are going to ignore or take notice of the slightest symptoms that could eventually lead to cancer. And with improved technologies such as proteomics offering a “great promise for early detection, screening and classification of different types of cancers” it would of course be our fault if we do not avail of it and are diagnosed too late with a stage three cancer.
