E Cigarettes

I have just discovered the existence of e cigarettes, and I can say that I am quite excited to tell this to all my friends.

Since I was young I have been exposed to many smokers for my sisters and I played at bars and the like. This is actually a better alternative to traditional cigarettes because of the fact that it doesn’t emit smoke, so nobody ends up getting second-hand smoking!

I have weak lungs so this product is quite helpful. Now I don’t have to try to stay away from smokers so much!

An ideal health plan for my parents

I have been searching for a health plan for my parents since I started working. Something similar to my aunt’s Blue Cross Blue Shield NC wherein the members are covered across the nation and in more than 200 countries and territories worldwide. I didn’t think there’s such a thing in my area until the HMO in my company gave us an orientation and tackled the Blue Cross.

I’m so happy! ^_^ I finally get to have a peace of mind regarding that area. My parents are getting old after all. And the older the person is, the more prone to health problems they are, and the more expensive the treatment is since they are in a more fragile state.

To cap it off, I found out that most of their coverage is 100% of the bill and there’s no need for a general physical exam upon enrollment even if they are 60+ up! Now all I have to do is rebudget my salary so I can accommodate the monthly rates for that. 0:j

Be Happy, Be Healthy

It’s nice to relax at home once in a while to escape the stressful problems at work. And there’s no better way to de-stress than sipping grandma’s home-made gourmet hot choco while sitting in the garden patio sets. Aaaaah… this is the life.

Stress can really wear you down. It doesn’t only make you feel old, it really makes you old. Stress causes the body to release toxins. Some research showed that you are more prone to cancer if you are always stressed. The immune system weakens when under stress, which makes you susceptible to different diseases.

So I guess the Hakuna-Matata philosophy really has its benefits. Moral lesson: Be Happy! Hehehe.

Uncle Does It!

Recession took a toll on my aunt’s family. And the whole clan decided on helping her out. My aunt’s husband died years ago and ever since then she has been the sole provider for her 4 kids. It’s not surprising if she has incurred a lot of debts over the past few years and now her situation took a turn for the worst because of the recession. Because of that my uncle decided to manage her finances. And just this morning while we were jogging with my aunt, my uncle gave her good news. He was able to fix all her outstanding debts by getting a debt consolidation. I was so happy for her at least now she wont be burdened with all those interests that she has to pay for each single debt she owes. Good job Uncle!

Stigma no More

When you see persons who are drug dependent, don’t curse them; pity them instead. Unlike criminals who should be imprisoned, drug dependent should be treated. Going to hospitals and drug rehab facilities for treatment leaves stigma on the part of the patient ant his/her family. Sad to say, this stigma affects the self-esteem and well-being of the patient and with this situation, he/she could hardly integrate with the society and worst of it, at times with his own family.

Drug addiction is a disease. Like any other diseases being treated, the patient under treatment needs follow-ups. The good news is that there’s now an outpatient treatment, a home-based medical detox program called “Drug Rehab at Home.” The Drug Detox Services is a 6-week drug detoxification which leaves the patient drug-free, and it monitors patient to prevent relapse. This prescription drug addiction treatment is done by following their doctor’s orders.

Shower your family with love and proper attention to make sure to keep them off drugs. Shower your loved ones afflicted with drug addiction with love through drug rehab at home for stigma no more for the patient and the whole family. After all, charity begins at home.

Health IS Wealth

This is the famous adage, I always share to people I meet, “When money is lost, nothing is lost. When health is lost something is lost. But when character is lost, everything is lost.”

I presume nobody among us will contest the portion of, “When character is lost, everything is lost.” Every person should strive to possess an unquestionable integrity, since no amount of money can bring forth lost integrity and reputation.

People nowadays are like a fool who works so hard to earn much money. Others are not contented to have only one job but have to move fast to catch the next train to be on time for the next job. Unknown to them, they are the cause of their own stress. Lately, recent findings pointed to stress as the culprit of major diseases like diabetes, hypertension, and heart attack.

If people will continue this life style, they are actually just saving to pay their future hospital bills. Even if there are health insurance that will cover your hospitalization, keep in mind that the essence of living happily with your family will not be paid by your lifetime savings and insurance.

It is high time for everyone to simplify our life by eating healthy foods and including moderate exercise in our routine. Learn to relax with your family by going to the park, taking a leisure walk or hike, taking pictures, or even going fishing while listening to your favorite music.

When money is lost, you can replace it. Perhaps even double it. When health - your wealth - is lost, you will never be the same again.
