Hooked on HSN

alternative medicine No Comments »

A typical Saturday for a bum like me. Wake up in the morning, have a quick cereal, take a shower then get the groceries. After that, it is either sleep again, or watch TV. Usually, I get hooked with the home shopping network.

Believe me when I say hooked, I mean really hooked. Sometimes I even rush to the phone whenever the ad says that I have to call within the next five minutes to avail of a certain promo. Yeah yeah I know it is just a replayed video right.

I remember one time when I was having problems with my acne. I saw one Chinese product claiming to solve all those in a few weeks. Without thinking I ordered. However, as expected, the product was too good to be true. I was only able to take one of the pills. It was so bitter that I thought I was taking in rusty metal. My mistake was not to look at skin care reviews from the net.

I certainly learned from that mistake. But I guess I am too stubborn to change. And so again, here I am, blogging, while watching HSN.

For body acne

Getting rid of facial pimples is hard enough. Getting rid of body acne is even harder.

How to get rid of body acne? – this has been a common questions amongst teens. Just type it in Google and you will instantly find a lot of other people asking the same thing. However, it is rare that you find a good answer, or at least a solution that will apply to you.

One thing that makes acne difficult to cure is that, Acne is a general condition. It is not caused by just one factor. Some people claim that it is caused by too much oil from your skin glands. Some even claim that it is from the toxins excreted by the skin from within the body. But the truth is, acne is caused by poor eating habits. Just think about this, vegetarians rarely have acne. This is because instead of fighting the acne from outside the skin, eating vegetables allows you to fight from within your body. Makes sense right?

A late night visit to the precinct

Last night, while having midnight snack, I got a call from the NYPD. I answered the call and it was my brother… in jail. I was devastated. I knew he had issues regarding his recent divorce but I had no idea he would get into this much trouble.

I went to the precinct and talked to the officers. It turns out that my brother was so drunk that he threw a rock on a parked cab’s windshield. I bailed him out. But then I called my parents to try to handle the situation. My brother and I were not that close but in times of emergency, we could count on one another.

Anyhow, the issue seemed to have been resolved. My brother, out of honest embarassement to the family, agreed to find the best among the drug and alcohol treatment centers and sign up there ASAP. It is the only way he could recover from his addiction. Oh well… there is always one in the family… two in our case – me.

Realistic Results

I watched Nikita earlier and I couldn’t help but notice Maggie Q’s amazing abs. I started searching for muscle enhancing, post-workout drinks to help me improve my flabby body structure, and I found anabolic halo.

I have never been very confident about my body structure. One of the reasons as to why I have low body self esteem (If such a term even exists) is because I have mild scoliosis. My hip is slightly tilted so I experience back pains from time to time.

I believe that if I reduce my baby fat and turn them into muscle my scoliosis wouldn’t be as obvious and I be more confident about my body, so I decided on this.

I have been worrying about side effects linked to drinks like this, and I saw a lot of positive reviews about this specific products and that it doesn’t have any serious side effects that come with it.

I also admire how this product doesn’t promise something that’s too good to be true. I tend to worry when that happens. They assure results that are realistic.

Diuretics for remedy

Tea, coffee and softdrinks are just three of the most common natural diuretics readily available. These diuretics promote frequent urination and can be useful as remedy for some disorders. For instance, kidney problems and Urinary tract infection. Diuretics help cleanse the kidney and urinary tract by inducing frequent urination. As the urine is excreted from the body, the bacteria and salt deposits are washed away with it. Also, diuretics are good as a fever remedy. Urination lowers body temperature. Inducing urination can control the body temperature when times of fever, just make sure you replace it with enough fluids.

Speaking of fluids, diurectics can however be a cause for dehydration. Aren’t you curious why you feel thirsty after even a mug of coffee? Yep. Anyhow, the rule is, always replace the water that was excreted to maintain proper body hydration.

My year end retreat

I am one of those people who have genetically high blood pressure. The usual BP for me is 150/100. I’m not overweight, I get regular exercise, and I never miss my vegetables. I do everything to lower my BP yet all attempts seem to be useless. On a medical point of view, when you have genetically high blood pressure, you cannot do anything about it. However I did some research on alternative techniques and found out about transcendental meditation.  I read about it from a book by Chopra entitled Perfect Health. In the chapter Meditation as a medicine, he described meditation as an effective way to lower blood pressure and also lower blood cholesterol levels. I was intrigued by what he said so I enrolled in a Yoga class which teaches deep meditation.Amazingly, after two weeks of attending the class, my BP dropped 5 notches. I’m not sure if it is the meditation but I could say that when my mind is relaxed, my BP drops towards normal. So, with this, I decided to take a month off at work and do a retreat. I took a reservation in an nature park resort where I will try to get some peace of mind. The nature park resort has outdoor style cabins with cabin furniture that will surely give me that “livin like a bear” feeling. I guess need to take my mind off things that are stressful.

Learning about HGH

A child turning into adult undergoes many physical changes, such as growing muscles and lengthening bones. Changes like these are not possible without what we call HGH or human growth hormone. A hormone is a substance released by the brain through functional endocrine glands to facilitate many physiological functions such as digestion and growth. HGH has a big role in developing the body in its adult form.

The pituitary gland is responsible for secreting HGH, to regulate many bodily functions such as immunity, muscle growth, feedback mechanisms known as homeostasis, production of reproductive hormones, and glucose usage and storage in the liver.

HGH is specific for humans, because there are other forms of growth hormones that are particularly found in animals. Such growth hormones are extracted and prepared synthetically and used as oral medication for people who are deficient in hgh , or merely to use to retard aging, improve athletic performance, treat many congenital disorders like Prader-Willi and Turner’s syndromes (which are caused by genetic anomalies), people with kidney problems, and commonly to lose weight.

Disneyland

As a child, one of my dreams has always been to visit Disneyland, may it be in Japan or Florida.

It has always been amazing to me, how they make beautiful fairy tales come true, and how colourful and pretty they make life seem to be when you’re in those places. You’ll never get bored, and everything is just picture worthy.

As soon as I save up that will be the first on my list. If you are as interested in Disney vacations as I am, and you’re planning to go there soon as well, maybe we’ll see each other there!

Don’t have too much fun and forget about the things you have to accomplish, however. As the old saying goes, too much of everything isn’t always good. :)

If you have any fun experiences or rides to recommend, feel free to comment on this post and share it! I’d be more than happy to read about it.

Please suggest supplements for joint pains

alternative medicine No Comments »

Herbal supplements have become very common nowadays. They come in a variety of types catering to a wide range of illnesses. One supplement that I am especially interested in is the joint pain supplements that claims to relieve pains from arthritis. If only I could find an unbiased review about them then I would recommend them to my grandparents who suffer from arthritis.

I already asked my doctor about those supplements but as expected, they had no idea if they actually work or not. Probably because they rely their judgement based on the specification given to them by medicine manufacturers, specifications unknown from the herbal supplements. Doctors usually are “anti- alternative medicine” because this type of treatment is based from tradition and trial and error.

I hope someone could tell me if they know a supplement that could help my grandparents. I would really appreciate it. Please feel free to posts your comments guys. Thanks a lot.

On taking vitamins to treat acne

alternative medicine, health & diet, skin care No Comments »

As of this moment, people are still unable to pinpoint the main cause for acne. However, that shouldn’t stop you from finding the solution to ridding yourself of acne. After all, a clean, soft, and clear skin will help boost one’s confidence in more ways than you can imagine.

Currently, most acne treatments are concentrating on treating the most common contributor – excess oil. However, I encountered a research which found the scientific links proving that vitamin deficiencies often contribute to major acne breakouts as well. Consequently, they have developed acne vitamins.

Some say they’re finally seeing results from that treatment, and the best part is that it doesn’t involve harsh chemicals. Then again, it’s still better to consult your dermatologist first before trying anything.
