Four Hours of Blissful Water Massage Experience

Yamada at the Health SpaMy bestfriend Mark and I went to a Water Therapy Spa last October 25 for an unconventional four-hour water massage experience. I have been dreaming of going to a place like that after watching an episode of Honey & Clover wherein Miwako dragged Yamada to a health spa to cheer her up.

The Water Spa concept basically makes use of Hydrotherapy or “water therapy” - the treatment of disease through the use of water. The Spa Pool alone, with 25 different hydrotherapy massage systems which are push button & soft touch activated, is already a relaxing treat. Add the Bubble Pool, Bubble Massage, Spa Pool, Water Fall Bath, 6 Hot Herbal Pool (Lavender, Jasmine and Mint herbs added to the hot pool with back and foot massage)… The 3,000 square-meter indoor all-weather spa facility is really a water haven.

To cap it off, their high-tech security systems and discreet and warm staff adds up to the cozy, relaxed ambiance at the spa. Mark and I loved it there so much, especially the bubble pool, that we’re planning to save up for another round at the Water Spa this coming holiday season. ^_^

One Week Yogis

My friend Mark and I decided to try Bikram Yoga last October 24 by enrolling in a one week unlimited trial session. Just so you know, Bikram Yoga, as defined by ABC-of-Yoga.com, “is a series of 26 poses performed in a room with temperature of 105 degrees Fahrenheit. Each Yoga Pose is usually performed twice and held for a certain period of time.”

The short week of doing the 26 poses in the heated studio really did us a lot of good – improved breathing, increased flexibility, corrected posture, eliminated body toxins, lessened back pains, not to mention it gave us a healthy, glowing skin afterwards. If it weren’t for the pricey monthly fee, we would have continued on a one-month session at the studio.

In the end, we decided to take pictures of the 26 poses (thanks to Mark’s Nikon D90) borrow the Bikram Yoga session CDs and book, and just practice at home until we can afford the yoga fee. With its great benefits, we’re definitely going back to being yogis. ^_^

On Anions and Magnetic Bracelets

While visiting my friend Marcoe last October 25, we got to talking about the emerging anion fad. Products containing anion seem to just be popping and increasing with the promise of boosting your strength, and helping you with ailments like headache, muscle pain, and arthritis.

During the conversation TJ, her husband, joined in and proudly showed his magnetic therapy bracelet. I was stunned. I wasn’t aware that they were producing magnetic bracelets as well! TJ relayed that it indeed boosted his strength. He said he felt much better and energized whenever he wears that bracelet.

Hmmmm… from doubtful, I’m almost convinced about the effects of anion. Just a little more research on my part and I might even buy a magnetic ring.

On Getting and Giving a Massage

When I was a kid, my dad, when he’s exhausted from work, asks me to give him a foot and back massage. I hate the menthol oil he makes me use and kept wondering why he loves getting a massage. Then my friend gave me a gift certificate for a Shiatsu Massage at The Spa as a birthday present.

I love the massage, especially the back massage! I loved it so much that I interviewed the masseuse after my session and asked where I can learn how to do proper massage like her. She said that their company provides massage therapy lessons but they also enrolled their employees in a massage therapy school abroad to improve their massage therapy and healing techniques. However, the massage lessons that they offer were only for those associated with them in the massage business.

She did console me with the fact that there are a lot of massage therapy schools. Still, I ought to be careful in selecting one, should do in-depth research, and make sure that the school offers massage therapy certification. After all, completion of the massage course can lend credibility to my name, should I decide to do it full-time of course.

For those interested in putting up your own massage business, do visit MassageGeeks.com. They offer really insightful advices and ideas to ensure your way into becoming better massage therapists and massage business owners.

Organic & Natural Over Chemical Products

Nowadays, a lot of people are going back to nature. That is, they now prefer organic and natural products over chemical medicines. Who wouldn’t? According to an article I read, drugs work for one specific purpose – to stimulate a particular function of the immune system or suppress it. It is because of this that “drugs can cause side effects that are more dangerous than the conditions they are attempting to treat”.

With this information, it is really better to take an immune system booster efficient against virus diseases than to settle for the over the counter or prescribed drugs. A good example of herbs known to have positive effects on the immune system is the i-drops. The i-drops is an improved version of the herbal tea known as “revivo”. The main difference is that it isn’t bitter unlike its predecessor because of herbal honey droplets that were mixed in the formula. Consequently, you’ll have a more pleasant time swallowing it.

Although there are many other immune system booster in the market it is important that you do in-depth research first before incorporating your selected product in your everyday consumption.

According to Moliere, “Nearly all men die of medicines not of their diseases”. With the advent of modern medicines and technologies to treat the minor to serious illnesses, the natural or alternative medicine books highly recommend natural health products and natural health supplements.

From the point of view of an ordinary man, the human body has been fed with unnatural foods filled with toxic flavors and colors that do more harm than good. Thus, everyone should simplify their way of life to live longer and be happy. As such, it is a must to consider the best things in life that surrounds us which are free. The nature or mother earth is filled with all the natural resources to keep us well and restore our natural health.

There’s a Little Doctor in Every Person

Abigail, my cousin, dreams of being a doctor and is now a third year medical student. My mom advices Abigail to see to it that she includes in her studies and research, the natural/alternative medicine books, since these books will give her the knowledge on natural health.

It is not only those in the medical profession, but everyone needs to consider what is good for human being - for there is a little doctor in every person. The reality is, with or without a doctor, every person should know what is best for him/her, according to the nature of man. As a physical being, man, similar to other living things has the capacity to nutrition, growth and reproduction. However, the bottom line is in the eating process or nutrition. If one’s nutrition is right, the good growth and the reproduction of better specie will follow. As such, if we want to have a healthy body, start with natural health products like supplementation and natural vitamins, ultra Ascorbic C and Full Spectrum Eight-Optimum E. There are online stores like Shopping.com where you can find and compare the supplements prices between multiple competitors.

If you are one of those who consider the physical aspect of the human nature important, you should be happy, for you are a little doctor of yourself, who live in the principle, “Prevention is better than cure”.

Green Tea Highlights

Tea, as defined in Wikipedia, “is a beverage made by steeping processed leaves, buds, or twigs of the tea bush, Camellia sinensis, in hot water for a few minutes.” While historically the use of tea as a medicinal herb useful for staying awake is unclear, China is considered to have the earliest records of tea drinking. The Han Dynasty used tea as medicine.

green teaThere are four basic types of true tea, categorized according to their oxidation levels (called the fermentation process): black tea, oolong tea, green tea, and white tea. Among them, my favorite is the green tea. Specifically one made out of organic matcha.

In case you don’t know, Matcha is a type of powdered green tea grown in the shade like gyokuro and which is traditionally used in the Japanese tea ceremony. Green tea, such as Matcha, is steamed, baked, or pan heated to prevent oxidation and thus the leaves remain green. It is highly valued for its rich supply of antioxidants (substances that protect cells from being damaged by oxidation), which are thought to prevent free radicals (molecules containing oxygen that attack cells in the body).

Nevertheless, since tea is an acquired taste, it doesn’t matter whether you prefer black tea, oolong tea, or white tea, to green tea. They all have antioxidants and provide a lot of health benefits.
