Since the recent release of the iPhone 3Gs most iPhone 2G users in the office sold their iPhones for a cheap price. Take for instance my colleage, who offered me her iPhone 2G for just fifty bucks. Of course, I grabbed the opportunity and even asked for a five dollar discount. I have been wanting to get one of those phones but I was just too cheap to get a new one.
What my colleagues do not know, the new iPhones are basically just the same as the first version. Yeah the specs say it has a faster processor, higher capacity memory, and a faster cellular internet connection. This is all true, however, who needs it? For instance, faster processor and larger memory will only be an advantage for resource-hog applications, which the iPhone does not have. As for the faster cellular connectivity via 3Gs, this will only work in locations with excellent 3G signal. Unfortunately, our office is basically a dead spot for cellular networks so no use for a 3Gs here. Unless a cell phone repeater is installed in this building, 3Gs users won’t be able to get any 3G signal. Anyhow, I think you get the morale of the story:
Never get a 3G device without a 3G connection. Hehe.
