The solution to the mysterious acne

fitness advice, health & beauty, skin care No Comments »

Often times, when people experience breakouts, they ask for the best acne treatments available. Come to think of it, how can an acne treatment be considered best if there are different skin types and different causes of acne? Until now, science still has not been able to pinpoint exactly the main cause of acne. Some doctors may say that it is hereditary while some say it’s because of the oil that is clogging our pores. Just the same, they are not really sure why acne is only affecting some people while some don’t get acne at all.

From the studies that i have read, one thing is for sure. Acne is cause by toxins in our body. The only way we could stop acne is to get rid of those toxins. To do that we need to live a healthy lifestyle – eating more vegetables, drinking more fluids, and doing plenty of exercise. In addition, a healthy relaxed mind improves your overall health too. So in summary, if you really want to lose or prevent acne, relax and be healthy.

Shopaholic no more

During our lunch break, while the rest of my colleagues are busy reading about fitness and health at blogs like xenadrine rfa x, I almost had a heart attack when I checked my billing statement online and saw that my credit limit in my HSBC card increased from 90,000 to 113,000! *faint* These people really know how to tempt you to spend money. At this point, I could probably swipe my dream Asian Cruise in a heartbeat!

Anyway, it’s all about control and aiming for financial freedom. Thank God my executive secretary for finance – Mark – has trained me well. I am now able to manage my spending urges and resist the temptation to grab my cards and swipe at the mere sight of “sale” and “discount”. Nowadays, to ensure that I’m not tempted, I leave my cards in my cabinet. And yes, I’m relieved that I haven’t gotten to a point where I need to have them frozen in ice just to control my spending like what Rebecca Bloomwood and her friend did in the “The Confessions of a Shopaholic”.

Thinking about it, having experienced swimming in debt and actually getting out of it is enough motivation for anyone to think at least five times before swiping their card.

11 Things to Ask when assessing your potential SEO

One of our clients has disappeared into thin air; that is, he’s stopped paying altogether since September 2009. Unfortunately, there’s this highly paid SEO specialist on that client’s payroll and the company has been fronting her salary until this month.

Our CEO, wanting to still get some ROI, decided to put this SEO specialist on my team until April 1, 2010. His specific instruction was to make sure we utilize and get everything we can from her. Before we can do that, I need to assess first her strengths and weaknesses as an SEO. Consequently, I interviewed her last Friday, and asked her 11 SEO Questions which might also be useful for you when you plan on getting or hiring an SEO for your company:

1. What are your SEO goals for my company?
2. How do you get SEO results?
3. Who have you worked for in the past, can I call them?
4. Do you have case studies I can read?
5. What types of SEO strategy, methods, and tactics do you plan to use to increase my online presence?
6. What types of changes will you make to my website layout, design, and content?
7. How do you measure results of my SEO campaign?
8. What seo software or tools do you use to track and analyze traffic?
9. What type of guarantee do you offer?
10. What is the timeframe in which I can expect to see results?
11. How can you ensure my site will not be blacklisted from search engines? What if it does?

A timely surprise present for mom

health & society, mumblings No Comments »

My mom has been hinting on their bedroom being way too warm this summer. Normally, this would have been a good thing since a warm room means you’ll sweat enough to burn those unwanted fats. It’s definitely way better and cheaper than buying slimming pills or going to a sauna regularly.

Then again, my parents are already in their 60’s. Now’s the time for them to relax and enjoy – forget about getting slim, they’ve been there, done that. With our mom’s birthday coming up this April, my siblings and I decided to surprise our parents by chipping in and buying our parents a Samsung air conditioning unit. I would like to thank God for credit cards and installments which made this timely purchase possible. ^_^

Dealing with stress & depression

Do you know what’s better than Stimerex ES in making you lose weight? A combination of stress and depression. For some people anyway. To others, stress and depression does the opposite – it makes them fatter. The only major difference between weight loss products and undergoing stress and depression is that as you get thinner, you will also look uglier with the latter. After all, dark under eye circles and wrinkles are expected when you are undergoing stress.

Still, there are various ways to be able to cope up with stress and depression. To some, all they need is good food and someone to talk to. For people like me, a good night sleep can make me feel better. Then again, it depends on the level of stress or depression you’re currently undergoing. There are of course times, when sleep isn’t enough to help you get over it. Which is why multivitamins like Mosegor are a big help for me. It literally forces you to sleep – in a healthy way. So you get the sleep you need to be able to go through yet another day.

On career moves

I recently had a meeting with my sister’s boss who owns several companies like a catalog printing company and an online gaming company. They recently branched out in our area and are looking for someone who can help them execute their plans. Her boss has been having a hard time finding a competent person who actually understands internet marketing.

My sister remembered that I’m looking for other opportunities for career growth and recommended me to her boss. Apparently, I fit the position perfectly – if I pass the “Why are you worth my time and money?” essay for her boss, that is. I had a chance to talk with her boss and found that he’s a brilliant internet marketer. Someone I’d really love to learn from.

Anyway, I still need to weigh things though – if the job offer is worth quitting my current, already secured job. We’ll see…

Online Courses?

Personally, I think online courses are a good idea. It gives people who aren’t too confident of going to class for fear of being bullied or getting into very awkward situations a chance to learn and not be traumatized.

The only downside to this kind of studying would be that they pretty much don’t have social lives, I mean, some people consider the internet as their social life, sure, but nothing beats real socializing!

What’s good about an online degree is that you don’t have to actually worry about who teaches you, since the teachers or professors are chosen with care and consideration.

With this you can study whenever and wherever you want, wherever you’re comfortable at, and they will surely assist you in all the steps that you go through.

A contemporary makeover

I was talking with a colleague earlier about renovating her home. She was able to buy a studio type apartment and now she wants redesigned. I suggested several good designs that I found on the internet and she liked the contemporary design that I suggested – a style with wall sconce and paintings on the wall. The lighting is warm on the eyes and the furnishing looks cozy.

She told me she wants to feel like in grandma’s house whenever she is in her apartment (I was supposed to react to that but hehe). Personally, I like a modern approach in my apartment although a cozy warm theme surely is soothing. But heck, it’s her house anyway. Anyhow, I’ll also help her do the shopping on the weekend to get the stuff for the house makeover.

On parents getting insurance

health & technology No Comments »

It may seem uncomfortable to many, but getting your parents a life insurance is really a great investment. Others may think that getting insurance for their parents is like expecting them to die or something. Well… we all die and that’s reality and all of us must be open to that idea. Getting insurance will really be of great help for the other family members.

As a proof of this, my cousins are able to continue their education from the insurance benefits of their father. Their dad passed away two years ago but at least my cousins can still go on with their life without financial problems. My parents heard about this and asked me to get life insurance quotes from the internet.

Parents should always consider getting life insurance because life is very fragile. You’ll never know what will happen in the future. It’s always good to know that the family especially the children will still be financially secured even after death. This is just my opinion anyway.

Invited to watch boxing fight

I received an email from Larry, a friend of mine, inviting me to go to Dallas on the weekend. He and his sister Carol are very much into boxing. They were very excited when they heard that there will be a boxing match between Manny Pacquiao and Clottey. Both are famous boxers I think. While I am not very into that kind of sport, I do enjoy Larry and Carol’s company. They used to work in my company but found good offers from Houston job search. They decided to work in Texas because it is their hometown and it is much comfortable for them. I have until this afternoon to decide if I’ll go there but since I will be very busy on Saturday, I don’t think I’l be able to come. Anyhow, I know they’ll understand. They know how hectic work in our company is.
