On taking vitamins to treat acne

alternative medicine, health & diet, skin care No Comments »

As of this moment, people are still unable to pinpoint the main cause for acne. However, that shouldn’t stop you from finding the solution to ridding yourself of acne. After all, a clean, soft, and clear skin will help boost one’s confidence in more ways than you can imagine.

Currently, most acne treatments are concentrating on treating the most common contributor – excess oil. However, I encountered a research which found the scientific links proving that vitamin deficiencies often contribute to major acne breakouts as well. Consequently, they have developed acne vitamins.

Some say they’re finally seeing results from that treatment, and the best part is that it doesn’t involve harsh chemicals. Then again, it’s still better to consult your dermatologist first before trying anything.

On controlling the lights

I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned, but I’ve been dying to have roller shades for the longest time now. Well actually, more of roman blinds. I’m just not a big fan of lights – artificial or sunlight – when it comes to sleeping. I simply cannot stand even a subtle light beam; consequently, the need for light control.

Nowadays, the days of the plain white are gone – roman blinds in malls include a wide variety of colors, materials, and weaves to fit every design and budget. I actually saw a design that’s perfect for my room. The only problem is, I still need to install curtain hangers in my room… *sigh*

Level up to rejuvenating cream

My dermatologist recently had me switch from acne cleanser to rejuvenating cream. The cream is actually quite expensive. Then again, at this age, it’s high time I start using one. After all, my skin cells is not that healthy as it was when I was just in my teens.

Moreover, I need to be more careful on what I put on my face – from make up content to make up remover. You can never be too careful. When in doubt on what facial product to use, again, just have your dermatologist go over the content.

Permanent goosebumps

It started out as a small white patch of skin in my left leg, a little itchy but I just ignored it. After a few weeks, it felt as if that patch of skin became rougher, as if it were permanent goosebumps. Usually people would go straight to the dermatologist when they encounter similar problems. I, however consult my know-it-all friend named Google.

Amazingly, when I searched for the term “permanent goosebumps” eczema was always part of the result. I’m usually the DIY person so instead f consulting my derma, I made myself a prescription for treatment of eczema. I hope it works for me. If not, then that’s the time I’ll go to my derma. I know not all of you will agree, but for non-abrasive and minimal skin treatments I’d ask Mr. G first.

HGH is the new trend

health & technology No Comments »

Men nowadays tend to become more conscious about their figure more than their health. Due to medical advancements, men can perform better at the gym when taking muscle builders or stimulants. Before steroids were popular with the body builders. Now there is a new trend… human growth hormone.

Human growth hormones as explained by wiki are protein based hormones that stimulate the growth and reproduction of cells. Because muscles are torn down when lifting weights, there is a need for fast regeneration of muscle cells. The HGH takes care of that.

Though the FDA approves certain brands of HGH, it is still advised to consult your doctor first before taking any drugs. This is because there are counterfeit products available in the market today.

On ageing and creams

Being in my mid-twenty’s, I’m becoming more and more careful on what I put on my skin. After all, at this age, I’m now more prone to wrinkles and dark spots. My friends have been using creams and moisturizers to prevent fine lines and wrinkles. I’m still checking out other facial creams and going through some wrinkle treatment reviews. There are those creams that really targets your age – 20 plus, 30 plus, etc.

Of course, you’d want to buy something that’s targeted specifically to meet your requirements right? Then again, be very careful when selecting creams. They might do more harm than good if you end up using the wrong one. In general, the best you can do of course is to seek advice from your dermatologist first so he/she can check out the contents of your desired cream before putting it on.

On getting in the good graces of your doctor

The day before my sister’s wedding, I went to my dermatologist for a blackhead removal session. My mom was laughing at me saying I’m spending too much time pretty-fying myself more than the bride. I just smiled sweetly at my mom and told her that the derma session has been scheduled for months. My dermatologist was just nice enough to take into consideration the schedule of my sister’s wedding – thus the appointment.

It’s really great to be in good rapport with your doctor. My dermatologist, for example, really timed all my facial sessions to make sure that I look great for the wedding. Isn’t that thoughtful of her? I also receive some special discounts from her and even free sessions! So, next time you visit your doctor, try to be in his/her good graces. After all, he/she can definitely help improve yourself and your lifestyle in more ways than you can imagine.

On ergonomic furniture

Working continuously in front of a PC is such a pain in the ass (literally). Too often, this is the case for computer programmers in the office. They often say that their butt hurt and that their legs feel numb. This was often overlooked by the management until we discovered that this was a serious issue. These symptoms are caused by scoliosis. The company physician explained that long hours of sitting can cause scoliosis, a condition wherein the spine is unbalanced causing each part of it to dislocate. If left untreated, Scoliosis may lead to Herniated disc a.k.a slipped disc.To prevent this from worsening,  the doctor suggested that we replace our office furniture with ergonomic ones to promote proper sitting posture. Also, stretching up every two hours is essential in order to relax the spine. Exercise too was recommended for those feeling those symptoms. Regarding ergonomics… well… it is the science of correct posture.  Too often, what works for others may not always work for you because each of us is unique in terms of bone structure. What the doctor recommended are office furniture which are adjustable to fit different individuals. Although this may seem a big investment for the company, the boss approved it because he values his employees.

Happy for you Mang!

Not a lot of interesting things happened this week. Oh, I heard from old friend Jesus. He was looking at Saint Louis homes for sale. He’s been there a few times on business trips and simply fell in love with the area. I’m actually quite surprised he’s settling down. He’s always been travelling for as long as I’ve known him.

Still, it seems like a good idea to have some place stable. And he told me that he’s considering getting a nice, small house by one of the many bridges in the city. I think he’s got a thing for bridges. When we went to Prague he used to stay up till dawn pacing around on bridges and gathering his thoughts.
Anyway, I wish him the best of luck. GOOD LUCK, JESUS!

The Worried Bride

I was sitting by the electric fireplace after an intense yoga session last week when Junnie came over to hang out with me. I made some hot cocoa and toasted wheat bread cause I was getting hungry. Then I went back to the couch where I was lounging. Junnie was my friend of 8 years. I’ve only seen her single during the first 2 years so I kinda identified her as 2 people always, Junnie and Kristian. They have been like the power couple in our circle.

Kristian was a yogi, spending 4 hours every day in intense meditation and jogs in the evening. He can afford to do this, well basically he owns his time because he has his own businesses. Junnine on the other hand loves to row for dragon boat in the mornings with my sister and swims right after. Both have strong businesses and are infact earning big bucks. By the looks of it, the only thing missing is them getting married.
Now that’s the main reason why Junnie was hanging out at home, she was getting worried. She’s not getting any younger. She wants to start a family and also make their relationship legal. She loves him and all but she has to be smart. They are not married and has no legal right to anything that they built together.

What she didn’t know was, Kristian has been planning their wedding all along. He was fixing everything for Junnie that the moment she says YES, they will be wed.

Two days ago, it finally happened, what a supposed lunch date became their wedding day. The moment he proposed to her and said yes, the big curtain opened and revealed the wedding guests and the garden set up. She was finally getting married.
It was definitely one of a kind and very interesting, imagine having a surprise wedding. Congratulations Kristian and Junnie!
