Featuring the BOB STROLLER REVOLUTION!!

tips & tricks No Comments »

Since last week, I have been looking for a good looking quality stroller for Ayla’s baby. Unfortunately, those found in the malls just look the same; they’re all just typical four wheeled bulky strollers. A friend of mine suggested that I check out the Bob revolution strollers in the net. I was amazed to see such a good looking stroller with lots of useful functionalities. At first glance, I bet this is the best stroller I could get.

Bob Stroller RevolutionFrom the reviews I saw in the net, most customers say that the build is very sturdy. The seat is very well cushioned and is infant-friendly. It includes an infant seat adapter for babies less than six months who are still unable to sit by their own. Other customers comment that this stroller is very safe too, unlike the four wheeled strollers wherein the baby can fall when she leans forward. I was also impressed with the big wheels that are described as “all-terrain” by their site. With this, Ayla won’t have trouble strolling with her baby in open ground areas like parks. I’m so excited to get one for Ayla’s baby. I just finished ordering online, hopefully they get it delivered before the end of this month.

A whole day of chit-chat

There’s not much to do at work so I just spent the whole day surfing the net and chatting with my long so-called friends. I haven’t had the chance to chat with them since the projects kept coming in. To my surprise, a friend invited me to join her chat group.

I was able to chat with Abbie, my former officemate. She used to work in our office but her family moved to Canada, so she was forced to find another job there. She was a good friend (I forgot to greet her on her birthday last week). Some say we look like sisters, although she looks much prettier than me. Anyhow, she told me that she is now a project manager in her company and she finally managed to get her own car, company sponsored! I asked for her for a picture, to my surprise, it was a modified Porsche with chrome trim
! I was so happy for her. She told me she’ll be visiting me anytime soon because she has a business trip in New York. We’re planning to set up our own business too. I’m so excited with the idea, wish us luck.

On being hot and blooming

After taking a week off from the office because of chronic fatigue syndrome, I went to work with vigor and energy. I was flattered when some guys at the office asked me why I was looking hot. My boss even asked why I was blooming. I’m not used to these kinds of complements you know, so I just give them the “you just missed me” wink. ;p

Anyhow, stress really does play a big part in our physical appearance. Last week, I did every relaxing thing I could think of like doing a facial, watching movies, meeting with friends, and putting home made wrinkle creams on my face. Relaxing is very important because it lets the body heal and boosts its immune system, therefore making it less prone to sickness. And no only that it is also important for our emotional condition. When we are relaxed, we are able to focus and concentrate more on what we are doing. Perhaps now I can do my job better than when I was pressured and stress.

Good buys in surplus shops

Since last year, more and more surplus shops are starting up. These shops sell anything from TV’s to mouse pads. I recently asked a seller from where they import their products and she said that the PC’s mainly come from Australia while the other gadgets come from Asia. Surplus products are very inexpensive, making them appealing to budget conscious people like me.

I always visit a surplus shop every once in a while to find some good buys. Last weekend, I bought a cool wireless mouse which is made in Japan. I was amazed on its performance. For a mouse less than four dollars, it works up to 20 feet away from the PC with no error. Great for office presentation and stuff like that. Anyhow, be weary of fake brands in surplus. Inspect the goods thoroughly before buying to avoid any hassle later on. Also, always ask for warranty of some sort for some ease of mind.

Too cheap for an HDTV

I recently bought a new 24 inch monitor as an alternative for an HDTV. I planned on buying an LCD TV, but I realized I’m way too cheap for that. Since I am on a tight budget, I got myself an LCD monitor and a HD media player. The media player can play movies from USB and sd card, which is good because I hate stacking up discs in my room. The thing great about this setup is that, all my players and video devices can be connected in the media player so no more manual switching of cables and connectors. Another thing nice about this is I have a full fledged PC monitor which I can use for work (not).

This set up is a cheaper alternative to expensive HDTV’s. The performance is even better because an LCD monitor has higher screen resolution than an LCD TV. The only drawback is, you will need good technical knowledge. Fortunately, my brother is an electronics engineer, so he helped me set up this stuff.

Bikram Yoga with friends

My company is teaming up with the Bikram Yoga studio located just within the area to promote health and wellness among its employees. They had an orientation about the benefits of Bikram Yoga during our break last Wednesday. Although I already know all of those since I availed of a one-week unlimited trial last October, I attended the orientation to get a good grasp on the rates and promos.

I was not disappointed. They’re giving us a 30% discount for the monthly rate! Hooray! ^_^ I just wish they’d agree to extend the discount to family and friends as well. My friend Mark would really love that especially since he’s been stressed for the longest time. My sister, on the other hand, definitely needs to do yoga to accompany her intake of Fastin. That way, she’ll get toned up while losing weight.

I talked with the HR about the extension of the discounts after the orientation and she said she’ll do her best to include family and friends as well. I’m keeping my fingers crossed on this one. It’d be so much fun if I can do yoga with my friends. 0:D

Work hard, party harder!

My team was given a large budget to celebrate our five-year anniversary – the first celebration ever. To commemorate it, we all voted on eating a famous and very expensive buffet in a five-star hotel, then go drinking til we drop-dead afterwards.

We actually didn’t think the General Manager would agree, but he just laughed, said, “Sure!” and signed the cheque.

Sunset BarWe celebrated our anniversary just this Friday. Some of us have already been to that hotel since that’s where our General Manager got married last March 2007. But even then, we still find the place magnificent, especially the Sunset Bar outside. The Sunset Bar is composed of one big gazebo for the main bar, surrounded by several gazebo kits that offer a captivatingly-romantic view of the sunset, plus a nightly poolside barbecue with fresh seafood, marinated meats and an array of salads, tropical fruits and local desserts.

I don’t expect us to celebrate our 6th year there again, but I’m still keeping my fingers crossed. You never know… 0;)
