A google of hits for diet pills

weightloss No Comments »

When you search Google for the keyword “diet pills” you will get a huge number of hits. Often times, diet pill review sites will make you believe that diet pills are safe and necessary for you to lose weight. Most probably because they will benefit from the profit. Other sites however discourage you to buy diet pills and tell you that these pills are hazardous to your health.

In my opinion, you really can’t tell that you do need to take pills unless you consult a physician. As with any drug, diet pills have specific effects which can either be beneficial or hazardous to you, depending on the dosage, frequency of use, and your own metabolism. Doctors determine what weight loss method you need based on your problem. So dont just believe on what they say on the net. Get professional opinion first.

Tada! the Special Restroom

mumblings No Comments »

Hi guys, I’m here in the mall just roaming around trying to find some good buys (and good wifi signal too). I’m on leave today to meet some good old friends from senior high. As expected, they’re late. Actually I came here three hours early to get them some welcome tokens. Hehe.

Oh, earlier I was able to use the “special” restroom – for the disabled that is. The girl’s room was out of service so the options were to just look for another or use the “for disabled” (no the men’s room was not in the choices). Since I really needed to go, I went in the special restroom. Anyhow, the restroom was really great! It had bathroom safety products especially useful for the elderly and disabled. I have never used one before so it was another first for me. I’ll definitely brag about this later to my friends.

Anyhow, I’m running low on bat, gotta find a charging spot. Bye for now!

My headache, my fault!

mumblings No Comments »

I wasn’t able to work earlier because I went to the doctor to get a check up. I have been experiencing a lot of headaches lately but last night was the worst. The doctor said that the headache was not that serious (although the pain is really excruciating). He referred me to an ophthalmologist to have my eyes checked.

So it turns out I have an eye problem known as astigmatism. It is a minor problem wherein the eyes have difficulty in focusing. It is easily treated by using the graded glasses and giving your eyes some rest. What happened was my eyes were strained because of trying to focus; but since I had astigmatism, it’s a lot of effort for my eyes to do so. Actually, what really happened was I was too close to the TV while watching and I had the lights turned off. Hey it’s the NBA finals right? At least I don’t watch multiple televisions at once! Yeah, Yeah, my bad. So now I’m taking advil for the headache. For now I could only blog a little. Till next time then. Take care of your eyes.

Did you know | Stress and anxiety can and do cause diarrhea

I have had an upset stomach since Tuesday last week, when I went to the mall to get my company’s promotional tote bags. At first, I thought it was just something I ate, or perhaps even a stomach bug. So I wrote it off as diarrhea and went through the normal process of eating healthy food to detoxify and to help whatever I ate get out of my system immediately. At the same time, I took hydrite to make sure I don’t get dehydrated.

My excretion narrowed to once a day but it’s still watery. After one week of my excretion being in the same consistency, I decided to have fecalysis for fear that my amoebiasis might have been triggered. After all, in the majority of cases, amoebas remain in the gastrointestinal tract of the hosts. However, they did not find anything in my fecalysis. The doctor just advised me to change my diet – eat healthy food such as psyllium and oatmeal. That’s what I did.

Still, nothing happened. So I consulted my doctor again and she said the first signs of diarrhea may be easy to recognize, but pinpointing the cause often is not. Consequently, we tracked back to what had been happening in my life and realized that all this time it was stress that’s producing that effect. I was actually quite surprised by this fact. My symptom of being really stressed was vomiting. I did some research and found out that:

Stress can also make conditions that cause diarrhea, such as irritable bowel syndrome, worse. Here’s how it happens: stress or nervousness can cause the bowels to move faster. As a result, stool moves more quickly through the large intestine. Normally, water is reabsorbed into the body from the stool as it passes through the large intestine. The faster the stool moves, the less time there is for water to be reabsorbed. Therefore, more water remains in the stool. The result? Frequent, watery stools, otherwise known as diarrhea. Not only is the diarrhea uncomfortable, it can also interfere with your life. Fortunately, if you are a healthy adult without a fever or bloody stools, there’s no need to let the diarrhea “run its course”. Instead, you can treat diarrhea and get back to life. (http://www.imodium.ca/en/imodium-en1.asp)

Managing stress is one way to help your body systems return to normal and prevent diarrhea and other stress-related digestive problems. One of the most effective methods of dealing with stress is to recognize the source and either avoid it, if practical, or find healthy coping methods.

According to an article I read, one of the healthy coping methods include aerobic exercise which, it turns out, is also good for the digestion. Experts recommend performing about 20 minutes or aerobic exercise most days of the week. Stretching is a good way to relieve muscle tension. I have had no time to exercise for the past months, so I guess now is a good time to get back on track with sports, perhaps swimming.

Diarrhea is uncomfortable, but often preventable. Then again, when prevention does not work, and over-the-counter medications do not help treat diarrhea, it may be time for you to see your doctor.

How to clean your bedroom without getting overwhelmed

mumblings, tips & tricks No Comments »

I’m a very organized person. I generally know where what is when it comes to stuff in my room. However, when it comes to doing a major cleaning, I have this tendency to keep putting that task at the end of my list. I’m just the type of person who’s so obsessive compulsive that unless I am sure I will have a lot of time to clean and organize my bedroom, I won’t do it. Sort of clean all, or not at all. Well, there’s also the fact that room cleaning can be quite overwhelming.

Problem is, this attitude delayed the much needed major cleaning of my bedroom for a really long time. The last time I did a thorough cleaning was when we moved to our new, permanent house – almost three years ago. I know, I know… dusts have actually gathered in areas that weren’t in my immediate reach.

Anyhow, I had also been having trouble with the accumulation of stuff over the past three years. My room is actually getting cluttered. So when I saw this gorgeous cabinet that completely matched my room in this discount furniture store, I knew the days of putting off cleaning was over. I bought it, had it delivered to my house, and immediately started making way for it by rearranging my room and cleaning it – Finally!

Here are some tips that have been helpful to me whenever I clean my room:

  1. Make sure you have lots of garbage bag and boxes to put and sort your stuff away.
  2. Remove your curtains and open your windows. You’ll definitely need some light and fresh air during the tedious process of cleaning.
  3. Move pieces of furniture out of the room first whenever possible so you’ll have more space to sort things. This decreases the clutter a little, making it seem less overwhelming, and gets those big, useless things (e.g. hamper, chairs) out of your way.
  4. If you haven’t touched something for more than two years, let it go. You obviously don’t need it. It’s time to donate it or put it on garage sale.
  5. Same goes with clothes. If you come across something that you haven’t worn in quite some time, try it on. If it doesn’t fit you and it’s not dirty or torn, give it to charity.
  6. If you find things that need to be put in another room (like stuff you borrowed from your siblings but never had the time to return them) grab one of those boxes and put those items in there. When you’re done putting everything away that belongs in your room, you can go and put the rest of the things away that belong in other rooms.
  7. When cleaning, do it from top to bottom. Top as in the ceiling, then the upper shelf, last is the floor. That way, the dust will go literally down where you can sweep them away, not just keep circulating if you’re dusting off at random.
  8. Finally, don’t forget to change your bed sheets afterwards. After doing all the cleaning, you definitely wouldn’t want to get your much deserved sleep in a dust-haven right? 0:p

That’s it! Good luck in attacking the mess!

Uncle Does It!

Recession took a toll on my aunt’s family. And the whole clan decided on helping her out. My aunt’s husband died years ago and ever since then she has been the sole provider for her 4 kids. It’s not surprising if she has incurred a lot of debts over the past few years and now her situation took a turn for the worst because of the recession. Because of that my uncle decided to manage her finances. And just this morning while we were jogging with my aunt, my uncle gave her good news. He was able to fix all her outstanding debts by getting a debt consolidation. I was so happy for her at least now she wont be burdened with all those interests that she has to pay for each single debt she owes. Good job Uncle!

When taking an “emergency leave” is doable

mumblings, mental fitness No Comments »

After a very exhausting week at work, coupled with an upset stomach, my friend’s invitation to a three-day weekend in Westgate seemed like an invitation made in heaven. It’s exactly what I need!

I actually intend to ditch work for one day to recuperate and rejuvenate. After all, “The time to relax is when you don’t have time for it (Attributed to both Jim Goodwin and Sydney J. Harris).” And frankly, if I’m going to continue working at this rate, I’ll be pretty much unproductive. Or rather, the company will definitely not be getting its money’s worth on me. The trade off will simply not be fair.

Yep, I am justifying my “emergency leave”. Heheh. I earned it after all. 0;)

Welcome Maggie!

A good friend of mine is leaving this Saturday to Japan to finally work there. She was my room mate since I started working 2 years ago. Since we share the rent in the apartment, she asked her sister to be her replacement.

Her sister Maggie works in an office near our apartment so it will be more convenient for her stay in our place. She moved in yesterday and surprisingly, she brought so many things in our room! She even bought discount moving boxes to be able to pack up her things. Anyway those things turn out to be her collection of books and paintings. Since I love books, the stacked up boxes was no problem at all. I even helped her unpack her things. Hehe.

Welcome to your new place Maggie! Hope we could be good friends too.
