Show me the teddies

mumblings No Comments »

How are you guys? Missed me? haha. I have been busy looking for great gifts for valentines. With just a few days left, I tried my luck with Google. I found an interesting gift that most women dream of getting… the famous teddies.

Nope, not the cotton-stuffed animal doll. It’s a type of lingerie which is worn as a bodysuit. Still can’t picture it? Think of… Moulin Rouge! Yeeesss… those super sexy undergarments are sure to make every woman feel seductive and beautiful. Unlike the typical lingerie which is tight, this undergarment is loosely fit and is made to slip off the shoulders. It will definitely make women purr (and men howl).

I personally will want a gift like this. Imagine wearing this type of lingerie in a fine hotel, with your partner, with champagne and caviar… the glamour… the romance… and… the bragging rights! Just like a typical scene in the movies ei.

Fendi watch

Hey! Only a few days left before Valentine’s Day! Most of us have already bought gifts for our loved ones, but for some who still have no idea what to give, well something stylish yet useful (and will last long) will be very appreciated. Something like a designer watch will be best.

I saw a great site selling Fendi watches. These are designer watches which are very hard to find in local stores. The site has a very neat homepage where you can find a wide variety of brands and each brand has lots of different items to choose from. The site loads pretty well, no ads, no popup’s, just a clean organized shop that has everything you need (about watches).

If you are not into designer watches, you can also search for other products. They have different categories to fit your needs. You can shop by brand, by popularity, by model name, by price, by style, and even by color! Each item has detailed description and picture so you won’t have trouble searching for the model in Google. If you are still undecided, they have this great feature called LIVE CHAT so that you can talk to a sales representative to ask even more details about a product. It’s so cool! Plus you have different payment methods secured by Verisign. So what are you waiting for? Try it out now.

I want a Kotatsu before the winter ends!

It’s winter again. With the cold weather, people tend to come up with different and sometimes unusual ways and products of keeping themselves warm. From the common heated mattress pads, to intriguing fleece blanket with sleeves… they’re all in the market. But then again, why settle for those when there’s such a thing as kotatsu (炬燵)?!

Nodame & Chiaki enjoying cooking in a kotatsu! Thanks to watching Nodame Cantabile Live Action (j-drama), I discovered the wonderful, comfy, and extremely cozy kotatsu! Imagine having a comforter-cum-dining/work-table on a cold winter night. Soooo heavenly. ^_^

I was so amazed at the kotatsu that I did some research. According to the description I saw, there are two kinds of kotatsu used in Japan today. They basically differ in the configuration and type of heating:

Electric: The modern style of kotatsu consists of a table with an electric heater attached to the underside of the table. The kotatsu is usually set on a thin futon, like a throw rug. A second, thicker futon is placed over the kotatsu table, above which the tabletop is placed. The electric heater attached to the underside of the table heats the space under the comforter.

Charcoal: The more traditional type is a table placed over a recessed floor. The pit is cut into the floor and is about 40 centimeters deep. A charcoal or electric heater is placed somewhere in the pit’s floor, walls, or, as in the modern-style kotatsu, attached to the table-frame.

Just so you know, the kotatsu is designed for people wearing Japanese style clothes. This type of clothes allows the heat to enter through the bottom of the robes and exit around the neck, consequently heating the entire body. Hmmmm…. Maybe I ought to buy Japanese style clothes when I purchase a kotatsu for maximum, comfy heating? What do you think? 0;)

Rose petal covered Scrapbook

It’s been 7 years since I last saw my close friend Dof, but I can still remember everything that happened while he was still here. Before he left, I barely had enough money on my pocket to buy him any gift or something to remember me by. But at the very last minute, I thought scrapbooking our photos and little memorabilia that I had with him would be perfect.

And so I collected and reprinted the photos that I had with him and our common friends, had our closest friends make him a letter so I can attach it to the scrapbook as well. And to finish it, I dried petals of roses and carefully glued it to the cover of the scrapbook. I gave it to him during their last jam as a band at our friend Keno’s house before he got picked up to go to the airport. He left with tears in his eyes and hugged me. He looked at me one last time with the scrapbook I gave him and said, “I will see you again. No goodbyes.”

China

My parents went to China for their honeymoon. And that was more than 28 years ago. They met in the military on the summer of 1979 and have been in love since. And in 28 years of their marriage they are still happily married and would still take long walks on the beach with hands clasped on each other. So this year for their anniversary, my siblings and I did a little brain storming on what would be the perfect gift for them.

We still cannot afford to send them to China for a vacation but a little something that would probably remind them of those two weeks that they spent there would probably be awesome. After much discussion over coffee we decided to get the love birds a matching Orient watches. My sister picked out the design and we collected enough money from each other to buy it. It was a beautiful catch. I hope my parents would love that pair of little reminders of China.
